After 11 years as an active member of the successful UK band South, Jamie McDonald has struck out on his own releasing his debut solo effort, “The Head on Collider EP” and its follow up, “The Shelf Life EP”. A multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Jamie has called upon upon former South band-mate, now of Unkle Joel Cadbury (bass) as well as George Hider (guitar), Ascher Nathan (keyboards) and Sam Chappell (drums) to back him up and help craft a sound that is a cross between the Lemonheads and fellow UK rockers The Bees with a hint of The Verve. Together with renowned producer and friend Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Kylie Minogue), Jamie McDonald anchors these thoughtful and melodic songs with a distinct pop sensibility.
